Richard review on
Apprenticeship
The
Brief
“My challenge, as set by the Government, has been to answer the question: What should an apprenticeship be in the future, and how can apprenticeships meet the needs of the changing economy?” In the UK, a “Review” is an official government document that is accepted or rejected by the constituent parties. This Review ambitiously attempted to redefine the shape of the system itself, and define a strategy for 50% of the UK’s further education system
The
activities
We formed a task force of 10 industry leaders and were seconded a team of civil servants from across government. Over 8 months and 350 public consultations, we developed a comprehensive strategy to reshape and modernize the apprenticeship part of the UK educational system. That system covered over 2 Million students. We presented to government and Parliament the final 141 page Review.
